If you are looking for a home or resort to stay at, dive resort or diving opportunities there are plenty of links to lead you to those activities and services. The best place for mission teams and missionaries to stay in a family environment. On a different note: On April 13, 2006 I authored an article entitled; "Paradigm Shift on Roatan, Honduras" http://www.articlestree.com/investment/paradigm-shift-on-roatan-honduras-tx208745.html . To say it was not well received, by some, is an understatement! It is about the different "agendas" people might have and how they might affect their view and hence their actions. I did not expect everyone to like it; but events since that writing have largely substantiated my views.
Roatan is a lovely place to vacation and I hope to return soon. Donna, my wife, and I first visited Roatan, Honduras on Carnival Cruise Lines in Feb. 2006 and spent approximately 6 hours on the island. It was that fateful visit that started Spartanburg Angels and you can learn more about Spartanburg Angels at: www.spartanburgangels.com . Then, later we went back for one week in June, 2006 on a VBS mission trip.
From that trip I gained an even greater love of the people and an increased desire to help the indigenous peoples of Roatan, who have so little (Read this article at: ( http://www.spartanburgangels.com/Povertyinthirdworldcountries.htm ) . That often puts my views (Agenda) at odds with the agendas of others. But Roatan, Honduras is a third-world country and the environment both fiscal and political must be taken into consideration.

But if your thinking goes to moving there and/or starting a business there it would be best to live there for a period of time; one or two weeks will not do it; in order to learn more about living and doing business on Roatan.
Among the links are links to two 'posting' sites that will help you learn more if you read the posts over a period of time. They also have an archive that can help you do research more quickly.
Enjoy your stay on Roatan and I hope it can be for more than just a few hours. Typically, vacations there run at least one week due to airline schedules but two weeks would give you more than enough time to sample the flavor and excitement of Roatan.
