MISSION ITINERARY 

 

 

You do not have to live in Spartanburg, SC to go.  You could meet us in Atlanta.  (Houston has a direct flight and we could meet in Roatan by special arrangement as the cost would be slightly different.) 

 

Saturday: March 31, 2007:  Depart Spartanburg, SC to Atlanta for flight on Delta Airlines departing at 9:45 AM to Roatan, Honduras arriving at 11:12 PM*

 

Proceed to lodgings lunch and general tour.

 

Saturday: March 31  Evening plans being considered.

 

Sunday: April 1 – Worship at local church.

 

Monday: April 2                                 Monday through Friday

                                                            Five work days and one fun day activity.

Tuesday: April 3                            

                                                             Our activities will include doing a 'Vacation Bible School'
                                                             program in one of the schools and general light construction,

Wednesday: April 4                            fix-up, cleaning and painting on a school or church there.

                                                             For the youth on the mission we would expect time for 

Thursday: April 5                                them to play soccer or other activities with the indigenous

                                                             youth of the community we are working with.  Construction

Friday: April 6                                     could include building a community playground for them.

 

Saturday: April 7:  Depart Roatan, Honduras 1:35 PM on Delta Airlines arriving in Atlanta, Georgia at 6:30 PM*

 

DAILY ITINERARY

 

Arise:                                            Our purpose on this mission trip is to show JESUS to the peoples

                                                      through a 'serving attitude'.  In addition to the above activities

Daily devotions:                           this might include praying with them, telling them about JESUS,

                                                      helping them with school work and discovering what they need

Breakfast:                                    and what their lives are like.

 

Prepare for days activities:         What we hope for the participants of this mission trip to gain from    

                                                      it are:  An appreciation of GOD's command to be a servant.            

Lunch:                                          Experience life in a third-world environment though the eyes

                                                     of those who live it on a daily basis.  Return with a knowledge       

Supper:                                        of what life as a missionary would be like, to give them a basis

                                                     for discovering what GOD's will might be for their own lives.

Unscheduled activity:

                                                     Physical demands would be a tolerance to high heat and humidity

Evening devotions:                     levels.  An ability to perform light chores for some and the

                                                     strength to hike up steep trails to some of the communities for others.


While there we will be working primarily with Mud Angels/Littlest Angels and one or more of the other two established charitable groups we support; Clinica Esperanza or Familias Saludable.
